Last week the Transition Years went to Achill Island on a class bonding trip. The trip consisted of exciting water activities such as surfing, kayaking and coasteering with all instructions given through irish. We also participated in the Gaisce 25km walk. We spent three days on the island and stayed in houses provided by Colaiste Acla.
The Bean an Ti’s cooked for us and also made us feel very welcome in their homes. We had ceili’s in the evenings and were joined on the second evening by an all girls school from Dundalk. Over the three days we had exceptional weather which was an added bonus.
We would like thank the teachers Mr Donohoe, Ms Brennan and Ms Ni Donnacha who organised and accompanied us on the trip.
