Junior
St.Clare's Junior Boys faced Colaiste Muire Ballymote in Ballymote on Monday October 10th. This was a very tight affair as both sides were very good but were both of the same standards. From the start Ballymote took of the far better side as St.Clare's had a very slow start to a great game. St. Clare's are very strong in the middle of the field with Shane Walsh who had another brilliant game and James Maguire who is a very promising young footballer.
Ballymote were in their stride as they had a great lead of 8 points going in at halftime but Shane Wards team talk must head got something into St.Clare's Junior Boys as they came out in the second half a completely different team and a 10 times better side they were in the first half.
St.Clare's backline started to work a lot better as they didn't let Ballymote in to score much and they drove on and pushed for success and success is what they got as they put in great effort especially Shane Walsh, James Maguire in the midfield Gavan Maguire, Mark McGee, Kevin McDermott and Dermot Foley in the forwards and Jack O'Connell in the backline with Nathan McMorrow.
One man who also had a great game was Diarmuid Keaney as he bagged himself a great goal. This was very positive from St.Clare's as they came back from a heavy scoreline to win themselves the game with a final scoreline of St.Clare's 7-13 Colaiste Muire Ballymote 5-13. Well done to the boys. They face Boyle in their next game.
