St.Clare's Senior boys faced Mohill C.C in Mohill on Friday 14th of October.
St.Clare's struggled the whole way throughout the match as they missed 3 key players in Ruairi Sheridan, Stephen Kelly and Peter Poniard. These losses meant that St.Clare's wouldn't be as strong in the middle of the field.
Mohill dominated most of the game as they found the target with most of their shots as for St.Clare's they struggled to find the target as they had a lot of wides which if had of been scores could of turned this game around into their favour. Christopher Jenkins captained St.Clare's on the day as he made a great save but was unlucky as his back-line didn't react to clear the ball before the full forward capitalized with a strike off the ground into the bottom left corner.
Mark McGee and Donnacha Devaney had an excellent game up their as they did everything they could do to get St.Clare's back on level terms.
St. Clare's went in at half-time 6 points down and came out in the second half determined to win this match. They kept pushing as Kyle Harte and Michael Loughlin possibly the best two players on the field started troubling the Mohill backline which was a very solid backline as they pressured St.Clare's to hit a lot of wides.
Although they gave it there all they came out on a scoreline of St.Clare's 2-9 Mohill 3-14 they can keep positive as they played very well, St.Clare's next game they face Castlerea C.S.
